Elizabeth Barry to Nancy Halsted, 1879 January 6
Scope and Contents
A.L.S. Chicago. Restored the picture to its original state. Contracted to have Illinois Room restored to original condition. Will make drawing of ceiling, take down stucco work, restore lost pieces, etc. Believes first thing to be done on lower floor isn't to furnish "but to make the rooms ready for furniture." Thinks it would have good effect on public if entire interior could be artistically restored. ER-5, p. 163
